A new round begins of the Representation of the European Commission in Italy and Cassa depositi e prestiti's joint initiative to promote the financial instruments and opportunities offered by the Juncker Plan to stakeholders in Italy. From Cagliari to Matera there will be seven new events taking place, providing an opportunity to share observations and ideas and discuss our commitment in the European sphere
Following the events of 2017, the Tandem Tour continues. Coordinated by the Representation of the European Commission in Italy, the initiative aims to promote the opportunities the Juncker Plan offers for Italy. The European Commission, the EIB Group and CDP join forces once again to meet with SMEs, trade associations, banks and local credit institutions, universities and public administration with a series of seminars on the financial instruments offered by the European Union.
The seven new meetings, reaching out to stakeholders across Italy, will offer an opportunity to discuss the role of National Promotion Institution and, in particular, CDP's ongoing commitment to promoting the Juncker Plan. From 2016, CDP has proved to be a leader in this field, helping Italy play a central role in Europe by launching and supporting numerous initiatives.
The 2018 tour will explore various topics: from guarantees for SME financing instruments to giving them more access to credit, to the synergy of European bodies and National Promotion Institutions and the importance of the shared vision and work of CDP and national banks in supporting the entrepreneurial fabric of Italy.
During this journey, regional representatives of Associazione Bancaria Italiana (ABI), Confindustria and Confcommercio will play an essential role. They will work alongside the European Commission, the EIB Group and CDP at the various events, meeting with participants face to face to gather feedback and reflections with a view to improvement and continuous growth. It is also an excellent opportunity to hear about the entrepreneurial success stories and growth that Juncker Plan financial instruments and resources have made possible, looking at the examples and useful ideas that give a better understanding of what can be achieved by Italian companies.
After the first stop in L'Aquila in March, the tour will continue on 28 September in Cagliari, then make its way to Trieste, Naples, Turin, Florence, Catania, finishing on 5 December in Matera, the European Capital of Culture for 2019.
