The multimedia exhibition in Rome on the 19th century Dutch master lasts until May 2017, under the patronage of MiBACT and the City of Rome
Cassa depositi e prestiti has made available the historic Palazzo degli Esami to host the exhibition "Van Gogh Alive - the Experience." The multisensory exhibition - curated by Ninetynine and Grande Exhibitions with the support of the Italian Culture Ministry and the Municipality of Rome - consists of 800 works by the Dutch painter, spanning from 1880 to 1890, with 3000 projected images on walls of giant screens with over 40 HD projectors.
"The visitor,” explains Rob Kirk, curator of the exhibition, “becomes one with the 3,000 images that come alive and the walls, columns, ceilings and floors that move thanks to the innovative video technology. It is a unique multimedia system, developed by Big Exhibitions, harmonizing motion graphics multi-channel, surround sound with cinematic quality, and more than 50 high-definition projectors to provide detailed and specific images in the foreground.
