Sample student residence rooms of the Venice’s largest university presented. The €30 million-euros of work was financed by the CDP Group, INPS and MIUR
As construction of Venice’s largest university residence continues, today the building siteopened the doors for the presentation of sample residence rooms to be made available to students of the Ca 'Foscari University in 2019.
The operation, worth around €30 million, was promoted by the Erasmo Fund with help from resources made available by CDP Investimenti SGR through the FIA (Fondo Investimenti per l’Abitare), the Aristotle Fund (fully subscribed by INPS) and MIUR .
The student dormitory will be built in the Santa Marta district, where the renovation of a complex of historic buildingsdating back to the end of the 19th centuryhas been carried out, and where, until 2014, waswere locatedthe teaching and research activities of the scientific area of Ca 'Foscari, now locatedat the Campus Scientifico in via Torino in Mestre.
The three buildings - Cubo, Parallelepipedo and Edificio Sud will offer 650 beds and a series of services designed to promote sociability: about a third of the surfaces will be occupied by common areas, with services to support teaching or designed for free time. Moreover, in agreement with the Municipality of Venice, the work includes the creation of a green area for the benefit of all citizens. The project represents an historic contribution to student residency in Venice, destined to double the current offer in the city; an initiative for the right to study and social housing that for the prevalence of available beds will apply the rates set by the Entity for the Right to University Study (starting from €230 per month per bed) and fees adjusted in line with the amounts established by the Concerted Housing Contract of the Municipality of Venice (starting from €330 per month per bed).
The Santa Marta project, as well as the future H-Farm campus, reaffirms the commitment of CDP Group throughout the territory with sustainable and innovative projects that contribute to filling the gap in the supply of modern infrastructures for education.
